Your website is an integral part of your image, identification and communication strategy. Successful web communication comes from grabbing your visitors attention and providing a website that is comfortable to use. Your web site should do both… Innovative design that captures the eye and is followed by a familiar and easy to navigate path.
By taking the following process I can ensure that the sites I produce are easy to navigate and eye catching.
1. We Need to talk
Talk to me… tell me your ideas, what you expect from me and the project so I can gain an understanding of what you would like to do and the results you would like to achieve.
2: Proposal
After a solid plan is in place for your site design, I can prepare an accurate proposal for its development.
3. Sign here Please…
Don’t worry… it’s a only a contract… Not only does a contract protect myself as the designer but it also protects you. It will outline the expectations of the project, the delivery and payment schedules as well as copyright issues and other details we have discussed.
4. Web Site Content
You will be required to provide me with all textual content. It is a good idea for you to prepare any content while I am working on the initial layout, as I will need it in order to complete the site once the design template is created. Please bare in mind that all content is protected by copyright law and I will only use content that is your own unless it is being used with the owners permission.
5. Initial Layout
An initial layout for the design of your web site is created based on information you gave me in the consultation. Any revisions to the layout/design you may want are done at this stage.
6. Site Creation
Next I begin creating the site. This will take the initial design and turn it into a useable and readable website. By now I should have received content and will add this once the design is seen to work and all pages are tested. I’ll make sure all the CSS/XHTML code is valid, make certain all links work, files to be downloaded are actually on the server, etc.
7. Final Amends
I’ve completed testing the site myself and am 99.99% sure everything is working as it should, This is when I send it to you to look over. You may find things I’ve missed and there may also be changes you want to make to the text or simple layout changes.
8. Getting Paid and releasing the Site
The Contract comes back again now and the project will need signing off. After I’ve received the final payment, I provide you with a copy of the site with all files you may need and make the site live. |
